QUAIL hunting is all on "
PRIVATE" ranches
throughout the entire state of TAMAULIPAS ,
Mexico, south of
BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS.
There are several Lodges approved and inspected by
Provost Adventures .
We have many
leased ranches near Lake Guerrero , Abosolo, Soto La Marina and others .
Provost Adventures handles all paperwork such as
licenses ,visas ,gun permits etc. at NO EXTRA cost to you.
Each
day you will hunt Quail in the morning
and Mourning Dove in the
afternoon
.
These are WILD birds , this is NOT a pen raised bird SHOOT , this is a
HUNT ! The
lodges area located in
the "ABOSOLO
VALLEY"
with it's
lush grain fields of Milo fields,
Corn fields and others that are
the financial backbone of
the "LAKE
GUERRERO"
irrigation project.
Provost
Adventures has been sending clients
in and out of
this state for over
25 YEARS
with no problems because we do not create any.
All the staff,
guides ,drivers and bird boys are courteous and attentive in the field
and at the lodges. Women" HUNTERS" are welcome and will be comfortable

trips have no
surprise fees . The only extra charges are for the shells you shoot, tips to
bird boys, lodge staff and drivers
and fee for personal guns if you wish to bring you own.

Package "A"
Lake
Guerrero lodge, schedules are
planned for you to arrive Harlingen, Texas airport before NOON
on arrival day to depart by NOON and to leave the lodge by 9:00 a.m. on
departure day . Make sure to schedule your departure flight AFTER 3:00 p.m.
Package "B"
Coastal Lodge
, schedules are planned for you to arrive Harlingen, Texas airport on
day #1 and depart by 11:00
a.m and leave the lodge by 7:00 a.m. on departure day.
Make sure to
schedule you departure AFTER 1:00 p.m.

PACKAGE "A" is at
LAKE GUERRERO . On both of these packages you will hunt Quail
over pointing dogs and pushing brush a.m. and Doves p.m. This
allows the Quail to rest and feed in the afternoon so you can have a great
hunt. We also NEVER shoot the whole Covey. There are plenty of Coveys and we
move on to the next Covey when the GUIDES feel your group has taken enough
out of a Covey. Do not worry you will have plenty of shooting.
Eight hunters maximum at this lodge.
PACKAGE "B" is at THE COASTAL
LODGE. This lodge maintains a 24 dog kennel of Setters and
English Pointers. Hunt schedule is still Quail a.m. and Dove p.m.

These hunts are on private ranches near Del Rio, Texas (Near Lake Amistad) and others
West.
"A" 2 DAY PACKAGE HUNTS - Including Guides, Lodging & Meals at

" B " Combo Hunt and Bass Fishing on Lake
Amistad, Same 2

The Scaled Quail, Callipepla squamata, or "Blue" quail, as it is
known by most south Texas hunters,
is a
tough customer when it comes to running
very rapidly through almost impenetrable brush.
Yes,
I said "running" because
that is what he does best and due to that characteristic it is a quite
different
matter to hunt these birds as opposed to the "gentlemanly" Bob White Quail that
will hold
and then flush on command.
This is not a pen raised
bird shoot, this
is a hunt!
