Black  Bear  Hunts
 with
Provost Adventures

WHERE: New Mexico: September 23.2008 thru November 15,2008.

The Black Bear is a very intelligent animal with high adaptability and its general avoidance of man
makes it a superb game animal to hunt. An average mature male weighs about 250 pounds and
the females about 200. All of our hunts are
fully guided with professional guides and competent
 woodsmen. In our hunts
we use dogs as a method to find and track a bear. Working with the
dogs
, watching them in the back of a rolling pick-up truck lift their noses in the air and pick-up
the scent of a bear, finding the bear tracks and following through on a wild and furious chase
makes a really exciting hunt that you will not soon forget.

Hunting with Dogs

The chase is filled with excitement, anticipation and the positive and constant sounds of the dogs
barking and baying in hot pursuit of the bear. Sometimes the Bear is treed within a short distance...
and other times the chase goes on and on, up one side of a hill or mountain and down again to
another.
You’ll hear the difference in the tone of the dogs barking and baying as they get a bear treed.
Unless you are in pretty good shape this type of hunt can be very strenuous on the old body,
but a lot of fun.  The bear in this area are many different colors other than
black.
The colors may be  Blond, Cinnamon, Chocolate and other  mixed color phases.

In the state of New Mexico you must purchase your Bear Hunting license
